In July 2019, hikers were able to watch the water level in the Hasselbachteich decrease more and more. In mid-July there was only a puddle left. With weather forecasts for temperatures above 40°C, complete drying out was very likely. The Bergisch Gladbach volunteer fire brigade introduced fresh water again on July 23.
