The Königsforst is directly connected to the Wahner Heide. For Cologne a quickly accessible jewel for relaxation. Whether on foot or by bike, many small and large paths and lots of forest. Always beautiful, no matter what time of year.

With its 25 km2, the Königsforst is the largest contiguous forest in Cologne. Before it was declared a nature reserve (in parts) around the turn of the millennium, the Königsforst had long been known among the locals as "Cologne's green lungs". This is still the case today: kilometers of cycling and hiking trails lead from Bensberg in the north via Rösrath to the Wahner Heide in the south.

Unfortunately, Komoot has left me in the royal forest once. Thanks to attentive visitors and signs I found out there as well. Ideal cycling and hiking trails attract us again and again into the 'Green Cologne Lung'
