The parish widow's house at Mittelstrasse 15 is the oldest house in Burgdorf. More than 360 years old, it was built in the mid-17th century. It survived the two city fires of 1658 and 1809. It was formerly the residence of the superintendent's widow. In 2005 it burned down to the foundations and was renovated in 2007.

The first school lessons were also given here.

After a fire in 2006, the house was completely renovated.
