With around 170 different fruit and nut trees, Nabu and city marketing have created an orchard meadow in Hohnhorstpark. The initiators want to demonstrate original fruit growing. The orchard meadow also provides food and nesting places for numerous animals. Tree sponsorships for 15 years are possible. Godparents can then harvest the trees. There is no obligation to care.

In 2008, the Stadtmarketingverein and the NABU planted 170 fruit trees and one wild fruit hedge with the support of the Siedler communities Burgdorf / Lehrte. With the orchard meadow, a piece of cultural landscape has been recreated in Lehrte.
