Quiet place in the city center to just unwind.

At first glance, the palace garden project seems crazy: who would want to be older than they are? But the park, which was only created in the 1930s, happily imitates the French gardens of the 18th century. Style is stronger than age, and anyone who not only takes their name from the Electoral Palace but also wants to fit in well with it should have a perfect command of the Baroque language of form.
The palace garden succeeds in doing this admirably in its front part - not least because some designs by the important Rococo sculptor Ferdinand Tietz were returned to it. In 1940, for example, his mirror fountain, which was first mentioned in sources in 1761, was rediscovered and the filigree water feature, which creates a kind of tulip cup through its rotation, was reinstalled. Tietz's sculptures of mythological figures and rulers also greet park visitors today as copies (the originals are in the Simeonstift City Museum). The garden area at the Imperial Baths is now a popular destination for sun worshippers, ball players, balancing artists and grill masters. Yes, the palace garden can probably define its age in the front part to its disadvantage because it knows about the colorful hustle and bustle in the back part. Life is in full swing here, and anyone who mingle with the people, trees, ducks and geese that populate this area in peaceful coexistence feels young again.

A very beautiful public garden. I wish there was one in my town too.
