The Hohe Domkirche St. Peter zu Trier is the oldest episcopal church in Germany and the mother church of the diocese of Trier. With a length of 112.5 meters and a width of 41 meters, the most important sacred building in Western architecture is the largest church building in the city of Trier.
Since 1986, the Trier Cathedral is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Roman monuments, Cathedral and Church of Our Lady in Trier, furthermore, it is a protected cultural property according to the Hague Convention.

The Domstein belongs to Trier as the Porta or the cathedral itself. Various legends are entwined with its origin, which I invite you to research yourself ;-)

The cathedral in the city center is really worth a visit. Especially if you take the time and visit it from the inside.
