Dom Trier

The Hohe Domkirche St. Peter zu Trier is the oldest episcopal church in Germany and the mother church of the diocese of Trier. With a length of 112.5 meters and a width of 41 meters, the most important sacred building in Western architecture is the largest church building in the city of Trier.
Since 1986, the Trier Cathedral is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Roman monuments, Cathedral and Church of Our Lady in Trier, furthermore, it is a protected cultural property according to the Hague Convention.

The cathedral in the city center is really worth a visit. Especially if you take the time and visit it from the inside.

The Domstein belongs to Trier as the Porta or the cathedral itself. Various legends are entwined with its origin, which I invite you to research yourself ;-)

At the corner building Sternstraße 1 is the "Lyric box" by Marie Winkel. Since 1995 she has been publishing a new poem here every 8 weeks.

Each poem is the result of an immediate experience of nature, non-nature poems reflect sociocritical aspects or result from the current experience of Marie Winkel.

All poems to read, but also the background to the "lyric box" you can find on lyrikkasten.de. I think it's nice to find something unexpected, which in turn makes you think.
