YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION: 1818/1828, LIQUIDATION: 1990, LISTING: Yes; The exact foundation of the factory area in Wingendorf is not known. Historical sources point to the year 1818, which, as can be read from the building on the street front, is a spinning mill from the first phase of the Saxon spinning mill epoch. Some structural details point to the master builder Johann Traugott Lohse, but this assumption is not certain.
In 1828, the successful manufacturer August Fiedler took over this early spinning mill and expanded it further. The spinning mill is said to have been the largest sheep's wool spinning mill in Saxony at the time. Fiedler expands the spinning mill in Wingendorf with a cloth weaving mill. After the death of August Fiedler, his son Adolph Gottlob Fiedler takes over the factory. Overall, the Fiedler family owned cloth factories and spinning mills in Oederan, Falkenau, Wingendorf and Scharfenstein at this time.
