The clock tower sits on the site of Trinity Castle, one of the five principle fortifications of the late 14th / 15th century Walled Town. The clock tower was built in 1777 as a gaol. In the present day you can do a tour of the clock tower to learn about its history or simply cycle past it, and enjoy the view!
