Former town hall, now library. The town hall is located on the south side of the Dries. Until 1878, the land on this side, between Veldstraat and Drietorenstraat, also belonged to the Dries. They were parceled out by the municipality to build, among other things, the municipal boys' school.

In addition to the year 1907, a foundation stone in the hallway mentions the names of the mayor and aldermen, the contractor E. Meltens and the builder Cl. Sterck. The town hall was festively inaugurated on June 6, 1909. It remained in use until the end of 1964, when the merger with nearby Buggenhout was realized.

The beautifully restored facade features the Opdorp coat of arms with the following symbols:
        A scale
        A passer
        A scale
“Here in this well-defined area (= compass) there is its own jurisdiction (= scales) and one only owes allegiance (= anchor) to one's own lord.” This symbolism refers to the lordship that Opdorp was in the period 1258 to 1795. Neither the Flemish count nor the Brabant duke were allowed to impose their laws or taxes here.
Administratively it belonged to the Flemish Land of Bornem (while Buggenhout belonged to the Brabant Land of Grimbergen). Parochially, however, Opdorp continued to depend on Malderen in Brabant. Hence the statement: 'living Flemish people and dead Brabant people'
        (Municipality of Buggenhout)
