Glass Chapel at the Anger

Nice little chapel made of glass 😉👍🏻

The glass chapel is dedicated to the Holy Mother Mary. Consists of cast glass blocks. The idea came from the glass designer and sculptor Walter Wenzl.
Manufacturing: first scaffolding was welded together for stability. Glassmakers from the glass school in Zwiesel produced 131 three-colored hand-cast glass blocks. Colours: brown, green, blue stand for earth and down-to-earthness, nature and growth and for the sky. According to Zwiesel's motto: "Fine glass and good wood are Zwiesel's pride" - the chapel was given a wooden roof truss and the Lord God was also carved out of wood. It hangs on a glass cross in the chapel. Above the chapel a turret with a red hand-blown glass bell. The symbol of love with the inscription: "Consecrated in the peace of the city of Zwiesel". Chapel was consecrated in 2003
