In the 18th century, Count Lacy had the Neuwaldegg Castle Park laid out in the English style, the first landscape garden in Austria. Some of the design features such as the famous avenue, ponds and groups of trees are still preserved today. At the Hameau, the highest point in the park, the count had 17 huts built to accommodate his guests. One of the cottages still exists today. The 80-hectare area has been called Schwarzenbergpark since the complex passed into the ownership of the Schwarzenberg family. In 1958 the city of Vienna bought the park and opened it to the public.

Beautiful and quiet park. It is surrounded by a forest where there are many walking and cycling paths. Great place to relax and have a morning walk.
