The Oma-Freese-Huus, a typical Dornum small bourgeois house, was built around 1850. Since its restoration, the legacies of the Kittel brothers and Enno Wilhelm Hector have been housed there. In the "Achterköken" (kitchen) there is still an open fireplace with former fire and kitchen appliances. A former Dornum shoemaker's workshop is originally built with all tools in the house. Today, the rustic Oma-Freese-Huus is not only a local museum, but also a nostalgic setting for weddings, which can also be held in Low German on request.
