Former hunting refuge now in private hands and finely barricaded

The hunting lodge was built in 1844 from the stones of the abandoned village of Oberferdinandsdorf. The entire property, which belonged to Prince Max von Baden around 1900, was built around 1850. In the southern gable there is a coat of arms, which unfortunately is difficult to recognize.

Today the property is still privately owned and cannot be visited.

A table top with the year 1818 and the coat of arms of Baden can be found under a tree near the property. Next to it is a border stone, which bears the Württemberg antlers and the Bavarian diamond pattern (Palatinate). It dates back to 1779. This boundary stone shows that the Odenwald has had a few changes of ownership.

The border to Hesse is close to the property.
