  • The castle was built by the Nassau count from 1201 to 1203. The expansion took place at the end of the 13th century. At the end of the 16th century the castle fell into disrepair. A first renovation took place between 2005 and 2015. Further renovation began in 2019 and is ongoing, which means that the interior and the castle museum are currently closed.
