The place where the jetty of the ferry in Sint-Amands is located can be recognized from afar by the statue 'De Veerman' by sculptor Marc Macken and refers to the poem of the same name by the French-speaking Flemish poet Emile Verhaeren ('Le Passeur d' eau').
