Use the north side of the bridge to cross the Rhine if you want to use long ramps. There are only stairs on the southern side.

The Rodenkirchener Bridge was built between 1938 and 1941 as part of the motorway construction pushed by the National Socialists. It connected the “Hafraba” on the right bank of the Rhine (Hamburg-Frankfurt-Basel, today A 3) and the Cologne-Bonn motorway, which opened in 1932, and was also part of the planned Cologne motorway ring.
The bridge collapsed in January 1945 due to bomb damage, but the pylons were preserved and could be used during the largely unchanged reconstruction in 1952–54.
