Before that, there was already a wooden bridge at this point, which was built to operate the section of the Northern Railway between Bietigheim and Heilbronn, which was put into operation on July 25, 1848.
In order to preserve the bridge as a technical monument, a pillar was built on the cycle path and a bridge section was added.
