At first glance the chapel looks really old with beautiful marl stones, but it apparently dates from the second half of the 19th century. However, a statue of Our Lady of the Angels has been venerated in the same place since the sixteenth century. The chapel was very dilapidated and was restored in the 1980s when it was also donated to the city of Sint-Truiden by the de Moffarts family.
