The parish was founded before 1313. A Gothic building is first mentioned in 1464. In the course of the first Turkish siege of Vienna in 1529, the church, like the whole town, must have burned down. In 1633, the pastor Johann Aichmüller undertook a general renovation. Among other things, the Gothic pointed arch vault was replaced by the round barrel vault, which has remained to this day. During the second Turkish siege of Vienna in 1683 the church burned down again. The building was renovated in 1685 and plundered in 1708 during the Kuruc uprising. From 1735 to 1737 the church was expanded under master builder Wimpassinger, the city master builder of Bruck an der Leitha. The nave was extended by around ten meters to the west and the main portal was moved to the middle of the south wall and a small vestibule was built in front as a porch. In 1737 the dilapidated church tower was replaced by a new building. The sacristies with the oratories were built in 1791 under master builder Anton Froschauer. In 1972 an exterior restoration took place.
