The clay ponds are part of the area created by the architect and surveyor Rudolf Küchenmeister with the beautiful name "Little Venice". Two canals branch off from the Dahme to Little Venice and flow through the residential area. At the head of this small water loop, the canals meet at the clay ponds. In one of the ponds you can see an island that is partly overgrown with black alder. Gray herons, mallards and swans are regular visitors to the ponds.
