The area, also known as "Böllberger Mühle", was bought by Louis Hildebrand in 1858. According to the city's register of monuments, there was a ship mill on the site in 987. Hildebrand tore down part of the building and had new buildings erected. Most of the buildings that still exist today date from the period 1875-1891, including:
baroque flour mill (ca. 1720)
old storehouse (1863)
Wheat and rye mill, staircase and water tower, intermediate building (each 1875/76)
new store (1880)

The mill itself is only a ruin and expires. After all, she has already come to honor in some international film productions.
