Source: ars-natura-stiftung.deHolle(r) terminal:Based on the "German Dictionary" by Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm, the letter "H" like Frau Holle, but also like Holler, which is also called Holderbaum or Elderberry, was installed at a fork in the path in the sparse beech forest. Compartments are built into the wooden framework, in which books are located as an open library under the open sky. In the selected literature, the terms elderberry and juniper play an important role. According to Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm, the elder is valued as a medicinal tree. "One should take off one's hat before elderberry and bow one's knees before juniper...".
The library is open to exchange. Books can be borrowed for a short time, but it is also desirable to enrich the library with further stimulating literature on the subject. As the ARS NATURA art trail continues to expand, further open letter libraries will be created until the alphabet is complete.

Ars Natura is a project that turns the Barbarossaweg and Wildbahn long-distance hiking trails in Central Germany into artificial hiking trails.
The project sponsor is the Ars Natura Foundation, which provides the hiking trails with art objects.
The foundation was established in 2001 by the artists Sandrino Sandinista Sander and Karin Lina Adam.
It is based in Spangenberg in northern Hesse, the place where the two hiking trails intersect.(Source: Wikipedia)
