Hiking

Memorial stone to the birthplace of Ludwig Kessing in 1869 (died 1940), who became known as a miner and poet about the hard work underground. I couldn't find out whether the ruins right next to the memorial stone (which are easy to miss because you can hardly read the writing) were also his birthplace. But it seems likely. From here you can go in one direction to the Essen viewpoint "Ruhrblick" and in the other direction to Ludwig-Kessing-Park.
