View of Espenschied and the Taunus Hills

The Wispertalsteig circles the high altitude health resort in a large arc with several loops. Deeply cut valleys, enchanted forests, disused slate tunnels and fascinating distant views provide constant variety on the way. If you want, you can break off the tour on the Mehrholzer Höhe halfway and stroll comfortably back to the village.
The entire route is well signposted and is a good 15.5km long, which can be done in about hours! If you think about your way back on Mehrholzer Höhe, you will cover a total of 7.5 km!
You can park in place! There is an extra parking lot right on the route!

Above Espenschied you have a beautiful far-reaching view from east to south to west, or vice versa, i.e. to the low mountain range of Rheingau and western Taunus.

Great views, but don't run at the weekend, there is a lot going on when the weather is good - but it's not for nothing that this hiking trail deserves the title "Premium Hiking Trail" :-) and was awarded in 2020
