Espenschied is the sunny climatic health resort in the Wispertal and was first mentioned in a town directory in 1187 by Archbishop Konrad von Mainz. The climatic health resort lies like a sun terrace 450 meters high in the Rheingau-Taunus Nature Park. The south-facing slope and the mild south-west currents on the one hand, and the foothills of the Taunus mountains with lots of forest on the other hand, give Espenschied a healthy, healing climate.
