The writer E.T.A. From 1808 Hoffmann worked at the Bamberg Theater as music director. After unsuccessfulness and various intrigues against him, he left the city in 1810.

Nordic walking

The monument on Schillerplatz shows the poet, composer and painter Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann with his tomcat Murr on his shoulder. He lived and worked here at Schillerplatz between 1808 and 1813.
At the Tourist Information there is also an audio-visual tour with a radio play by the Bamberg author Peter Braun on stations, places and memorials of E. T. A. Hoffmann in Bamberg.

Hiking

As a budding poet and composer, E.T.A. Hoffmann spent important years of his life in Bamberg from 1808 to 1813. His first major stories, which were published as "Fantasy Pieces" in 1814, date from his time in Bamberg. Today, his home on Schillerplatz is a museum.
There is also an audiovisual tour of E.T.A. at the Tourist Information. Hoffmann with a radio play by the Bamberg author Peter Braun on stations, places and memorials of Hoffmann in Bamberg.
