The Catharijnepoort in the South Holland city of Dordrecht is located on the Hooikade on the Oude Maas. The Catharijne or Katrijnenpoort, which dates from 1652, was intended to provide access to the Hooikade after the Maartensgat was dug. It is a simple passage between wooded pilasters with entablature. Keystone with mask in the gate arch. The frieze is dated: 1652. Completely made of natural stone. Graceful hipped roof. The land side, in brick, is very simple.

Catharijnepoort:
The origin of the name is uncertain. The contractor who had the gate built may have had a wife or daughter named Catherine. But it is also possible that the gate was named after the wife of the then reigning mayor Cornelis van Beveren. Of the many city gates that Dordrecht had, only this gate and the Groothoofdspoort remain.
