Road Cycling Highlight
Small fortified tower, built on a small island near the shore of Belém in the early 1500s to protect Lisbon from the seafront from pirates and to form a defensive line along the coast in the war with Spain. An unusual highlight is a wall-sculpture considered the first three-dimensional representation of a rhino in Europe! The visit of the interior is nice, the view from the top is awesome, but the lines can be brutal, so come early, particularly Sunday mornings, when entrance is free.
