The Lykkesholmbugt is the most important part of Arresø in terms of birdlife. This concerns in particular the possibility to observe birds of prey: cane horseradish (Danish Rørhøg), osprey (Danish Fiskeørn), white-tailed eagle (Danish Havørn) and red kite (Danish Rød Glente).
The white-tailed eagle has lived in nearby Nejede Vesterskov for 10 years.
In the bay also flows the small river Pøleå and if one has good luck one can also observe here how the Bieber on its excursions comes here.
