Fruebjerg is with its 65.45 meter Gribskov steepest hill. From the top it is in good weather overlooking Denmark's largest lake, Arresø. King Frederik 2's Channel, which was built in the late 16th century to lead water in Frederiksborg Slotssø, cuts Fruebjerg's western foot, and below it lies Fruebjerg Sø.Earlier there were several sources on the spot. Otherwise, Fruebjerg is best known for the 18th and 19th of the 18th-century Mergers' meetings, founded by Holger Begtrup. Up to 5,000 citizens met up to hear politicians and cultural figures speak here. In the 100th anniversary of the first meeting, tradition was revived with a meeting every year in August.
