Don't say we haven't worked hard. We present you here the longest and largest stream south of the Westerschelde. It is a casual six kilometers long and, with an area of 38 hectares, is a humid and popular habitat for mallards and white-fronted geese, among others. Buzzards and kestrels hunt on its banks, songbirds whistle, frogs quack and amphibians meander - more or less depending on the season (or not at all in winter).

Is so much nature too stressful for you? Then follow the 9.5 kilometer long yoga path with the meaningful name Mindful Walk. It starts at junction 83 and is particularly popular in winter - because snow yoga is trendy!

The Boerekreek is the largest (39 ha) creek in the Meetjesland (Meetjesland creek area). When it was formed in the sixteenth century, it was called the Grote Geule.
It has a very irregular shape and approaches the centre of Sint-Jan-in-Eremo closely. It is only separated from the Mazurekreek by an agricultural road.
Part of it is a nature reserve and is managed by Natuurpunt. Another part, close to the centre of Sint-Jan-in-Eremo, has been operated by the province as a sports centre since 1999. This part was previously operated by Bloso since 1970. The area is protected in Europe as part of the Natura 2000 area 'Polders'.

With an area of 39 hectares, the Boerekreek is the largest in the region. Long ago called the Grote Geule, you can view it from the Leopold Canal and from the road to Sint-Jan-in-Eremo. There is also a Bloso water sports center where you can park (not always open). From the Leopold Canal (east of the Sint-Jansbrug) you can see part of the part managed by Natuurpunt and an information board a little further. Attention: the part with the footpath and Instagram sign that is occasionally shown here between the photos is on the Oostpolder Creek on the other side of the road.
