In the 20th century, Heinrich Schütz was regarded by many as the epitome of Lutheran church music before Bach. Works from the sacred choral music from 1648 were the standard repertoire of church choirs: So God loved the world, give us peace or see those with tears.
I really liked the building, especially the decorations over the top floor windows.

The Heinrich-Schütz-Haus is the only house of the composer that has been preserved in its original form. Schütz acquired it in 1651 and spent the rest of his life here from 1657 to 1672. In his composing room under the roof, the Saxon court music director created his great late works. Heinrich Schütz concluded his life's work in 1671 with his last work, the swan song. The Renaissance house was built around 1552 and extensively renovated from 2010 to 2012. The permanent exhibition presents the life and work of the composer at the authentic place of his work. The highlight is the restored composing room, in which two fragments of music found in the house by the composer's hand are on display. Numerous sound samples and films give a concise impression of Heinrich Schütz's compositional style....Source: architektur-blicklicht.de/artikel/ausstellungen/heinrich-schuetz-haus-weissenfels
