The Pommery cellars are the reuse of ancient Roman chalk pits in labyrinthine and gigantic champagne cellars. Madame Pommery decides to invest in a new location that brings together optimal manufacturing conditions. In July 1868, in Reims, she launched the work of the century: namely the metamorphosis of chalk pits into cellars. The place today is quite unique both historically and artistically. What above all makes the charm of these cellars are, in addition to the impressive size of the place, the many creations of contemporary artists exhibited on site and which you will discover during the visit.

Vranken-Pommery is one of the largest champagne houses in Reims, France. It was created from the merger of Vranken and Pommery, two historic brands that were founded in 1836 and 1858. Vranken-Pommery produces various types of champagne, including the well-known Cuvée Louise and the Brut Royal. The champagne house has a unique domain in the style of an English castle, which was designed by Madame Pommery in the 19th century. The domain includes 50 hectares of land, 18 kilometers of cellars and more than 60 Gallo-Roman chalk pits. The champagne house also regularly hosts exhibitions of contemporary art in its cellars. You can visit the champagne house and take a tour of the cellars, the Villa Demoiselle and the museum.
