The Driemanspolder is named after the three-headed management that drained this polder from 1668.
The “New” Driemanspolder was created in 1976, when the Grote Polder and the Driemanspolder were merged. Until 2017, this was still an agricultural polder.
It is now a nature and recreation area that connects with the Westerpark and the Buytenpark in Zoetermeer.
At the same time, the polder collects excess water from the area during extreme rainfall (peak storage).
It only opened in 2020.

Beautiful area for birdwatching. However, be aware of many insects, especially mosquitoes.
