The Wittenbergen lighthouse, together with the Tinsdal lighthouse, has formed the leading light line Wittenbergen – Tinsdal for ships traveling down the Elbe in the Hamburg district of Rissen. Always a beautiful sight, even in daylight.

Up to the lighthouse and let your gaze wander over Blankenese and the Elbe - it's perfect from here.

Since November 29, 1984, the Blankenese lower lighthouse, together with the Blankenese upper lighthouse, has formed the Blankenese leading light line for ships sailing up the Elbe.
The first lighthouse, built in 1984, was in use until 2020, when it was replaced by another one and demolished because the leading light line was moved 600 m to the south-east as part of the Elbe deepening.
