The approximately 15-hectare animal enclosure in Hammer is divided into four sub-areas: the forest, an area with nutrient-poor grassland, the Kuhlensee and the Kuhfurtsau lowlands. Here you can see the imposing red deer up close. Then there are Heidschnucken, moufflons, fallow deer and the small wild horses, the tarpans, to look at. The enclosures are very spacious and spacious, so that the animals have plenty of space. So close to the gates of Kiel, this excursion area is correspondingly heavily frequented on the weekends.

Very exciting for children, precisely because many wild animals are not shy.

Caged animals are not that great. But the animals are also a beautiful sight when they stand together in a larger group.
