A unique open-air museum about rural history in Schleswig-Holstein. Very spacious and maintained. I have not seen anything like that on this scale. The big plus our four-legged darlings can also look at everything. So who's in the area, should plan a day for it. It's really worth it. 😊👍🐕

Hiking

The gatehouse of the open-air museum was originally planned in 1770 by the court architect Georg Greggenhofer for the Deutsch-Nienhof estate on the Westensee, but was never built.
The plans were only realized 200 years later and here at the museum.
It served as the entrance portal until it was renovated in 2015 (dormer windows in the roof).

By the way: an annual subscription supports the open-air museum.

Hiking

Freilichtmuseum Molfsee with farmhouses, cottages, barns, windmills and workshops of the village craft from all over Schleswig-Holstein. Even in winter (Nov.-March), the open-air museum is open (only Sundays 11-16 clock) The houses remain closed in winter.
