Troldehuset dates back to 1920 and was built by director Harald Plum as a holiday resort for his employees.
In 1930 Ane Ryholt and her husband became the new owners of Trelde Næs. They used Troldehuset as a private summer residence and also had a veranda built on the west side.
From 1955 Troldehuset became a permanent residence for Ane Ryholt until 1960 when she sold Trelde Næs to Svend Hansen, the director of Olympia Typewriters in Copenhagen.
Since 1966 Trelde Næs and Troldehuset have been owned by the municipality of Fredericia.
