The Berggeistweiher also Berggeistsee is a Villesee in Landesplanerisch secured area for the protection of nature in the Ville, a ridge west of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia. The Berggeistsee is located between Walberberg and Brühl in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis. It is one of the numerous lakes in the Ville Lake District, which consists of a vast 50-square-meter forest area and is part of the Rheinland Nature Park. The lake is a former coal mine and was built in the middle of the thirties during lignite mining and is therefore also called "Tonweiher". He has no solid shore because of the lignite base.

You can walk on narrow paths directly along the shore and discover lots of great photo opportunities. Definitely worth it. 👌
