A BEAUTIFUL ROMANTIC TOUR WITH NARROW PATHS ALONG THE ABYSS ALONG THE DHÜNN. STURDY FOOTWEAR RECOMMENDED. CRISP SHORT CLIMBS. START AT THE SCHÖLLERHOF PARKING LOT BEHIND ALTENBERG. PLENTY OF PARKING SPACES AVAILABLE BUT ALWAYS WELL VISITED. RISKY TO WALK IN PLACES IN WET WEATHER.

Large parking lot at the start Lotsenstelle 42 near Niederzier. Hiking trails are made of gravel and are about 250-300 cm wide. At the wild horses, you can walk through their area on the marked path. They don't bother us. Otherwise, lots of greenery and an interesting Stations of the Cross.

Very nice, flat tour, good paths, lots of "greenery". Parking at Rhydt Castle is plentiful but always very busy from approx. 11 am. The paths can also be walked well with mid-high shoes.

A very nice tour apart from the section of the federal highway to Altenberg. Sturdy footwear is useful. Several benches are available for resting. Not recommended in wet weather.
