Tips
The Warne rises in the Salzgitter ridge. It flows past a protected biotope, it is the new pond. The New Pond is not that new, however, as it was laid out for salt mining as early as the 15th century. Its fresh water was necessary for the extraction of the raw brine from the rock salt deposits.
