The imposing station building - as mentioned by the previous speakers - inspired by the Palazzo Vecchio - is located almost directly on the shore of Lake Constance, right next to the Stadtgarten. In and around the train station, however, things are usually quite narrow and hectic.

It was opened on June 15, 1863 and built in the neo-Gothic and Renaissance style, modeled on the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
The station tower is a striking building in Konstanz and can be seen from the market square.
