The ascent to the Löwenburg is worthwhile. The view is priceless !! So you have to climb the stairs! 👍🏼

  • A really nice place on top of the mountain with a beautiful view of the landscape (in good weather!)! However, on the weekend also quite overcrowded! Since you should be there early!

  • A steep ascent is rewarded with a great all-round view.
After overcoming the stairs, the entire Rhine, Bad Honnef and Bonn can be seen. But it can get tight on weekends and public holidays.
It is essential to drive to the end, when it goes down, you can build up a lot of speed.

  • steep ascent, great views, no crowds, good rest area for a snack (alternatively, however, the restaurant Löwenburg at the foot of the mountain is a real recommendation)

  • In good weather, better early or late in the day, otherwise very crowded.

  • Nice tour, nice view - you should just note that according to the network of trails, mointain bikers are not allowed to drive up even on the wide path. VVS and a hiking club from the Sauerland have achieved this ...

  • Great ruin with a wonderful view. With the Mtb there is a stony descent S2 or a steep downhill with 2-3 small jumps. Always against your mood. Except on Sundays, there are too many hikers on the way

  • The Löwenburg is a mountain with a medieval castle ruin of the same name, dating from around 1247; Located 455 meters above sea level.

  • Start of the hike from the Margarethenhöhe car park near Königswinter/Ittenbach. The car park is paid: 2€ for 3 hours and 3€ for the whole day. The path is easy, only the last 0.6 km a little steeper. At 455 m, the Löwenburg is the second highest elevation in the Siebengebirge after the Großer Ölberg.
Both elevations are worth it for the great view.

  • Gravel and MTB riders have perfect terrain and a super cool view over the entire Rhine Valley! When the weather is nice, you can always expect a handful of walkers on the Löwenburg, but this climb is still worth it!You can easily carry your bike up the stairs to your final destination, so you don't have to leave it unattended in front of the stairs! ;-).

  • Steep climb but a good gravel road. The climb is rewarded with a beautiful view and the accompanying ruin. Well worth the effort.
