The mule track is a regional hiking trail run by the Black Forest Association.
The path connects Karlsruhe-Durlach with Baden-Baden and thus the Black Forest North Rim Trail with the Ortenau Wine Trail, two long-distance hiking trails of the Black Forest Association.
The mule track is 47 kilometers long. An "official" division into stages is not known. A division into the following three stages is conceivable:
1. Karlsruhe-Durlach - Ettlingen, 13.5 kilometers
2. Ettlingen - Bad Rotenfels, 20.5 kilometers
3. Bad Rotenfels - Baden-Baden, 13.0 kilometers
