Hiking
The Roland figure of the city of Halle (Saale) changed its place in the market area several times. Today it stands on the east side of the Red Tower.
Like Roland statues in other cities, it was erected as a sign of civil liberty, as a symbol of the city's independence, and as a symbol of high jurisdiction.
