The guardroom and the apartment of the art guardian who supervised the "water rolling art" were once housed here before an electrically operated brine pump was introduced in 1929. The disused "Wasser-Rollkunst" was torn down in 1946, with which the last large waterwheel in the brine ditch also disappeared.
The building, which was formerly owned by the salt flats, was used by the spa staff as an apartment after it became the property of the municipality.
Bernhard Hoffmann, a citizen of Söder, is named as the last "art attendant". After 1929 he opened a milk wholesaler in the guardroom.

Hiking

(Bad) Sooden lived off salt production for centuries. The graduation tower is the most striking relic from that time. Several other buildings from the saltworks have also been preserved. Among them is the Kunsthaus (Art House)/Kunstwärterhaus (Art Keeper's House), which today we would probably call the headquarters of the technical director of the water management system.
