Former monastery from the 14th century. Inside is the tomb and relic of the founder of the monastery. Also a place of silence and contemplation. The visit is worthwhile. A museum can also be visited at the monastery.

A comprehensive description is already available, I would just like to add that the tomb of the founder of the monastery, Luitgard von Wittichen, is in the monastery church.

The Wittichen monastery is a former Clarisse monastery in a narrow side valley of the Kleine Kinzig near Schenkenzell in the upper Kinzig valley. The monastery church is a baroque gem and is still the destination of many pilgrims today. A small museum has been set up in the old monastery stables, which exhibits the treasures such as the monstrance, vestments and similar objects of the monastery as well as minerals from Wittichen. The nave is used by the village of Kaltbrunn as a community center, but its sheer size alone is impressive from the outside. The building seals off the small valley to a certain extent. The Talbach and the thoroughfare, which leads to the former mining settlement of Wittichen, lead side by side through two sandstone-framed gates in the building. Despite its incompleteness, the whole complex appears extremely idyllic.
