Wonderful view over the Black Forest. I almost had the impression of escaping civilization and being in the midst of an infinite natural landscape.

Hut currently open and in good condition. What a wonderful feeling to arrive here after 26km Westweg and set up camp for the night.

Hiking
The Niklashütte is a pure refuge for hikers, unmanaged, very remote, but ideal for enjoying the tranquility of the Black Forest. Ideal for self-catering. But please take the rubbish with you and don't just dispose of it behind the hut in the forest. Is actually self-evident, one should assume.
