The Wilde Rench flows from the north to Griesbach. From there it flows only as a rench in a striking south arch through the Black Forest and Ortenau and after 57 kilometers finally into the Rhine. The popular Wiesensteig trail runs in the valley on the upper reaches of the Wilder Rench.

The Wild Rench rises at Kniebis at 915 meters and bubbles over small waterfalls, Buntsandsteinblöcke and through a secluded meadow valley to Bad Griesbach. From there it flows as Rench over Bad Peterstal, Oppenau to Oberkirch and flows after 57 kilometers at Renchen in the Rhine.
Not far from here you will find the Fischfelsenhütte with seating and a fountain.

The Wildreich-Uferweg is not only recommended, but especially on hot days, as it is beautifully shady and cool here. The route crosses the creek several times, which has to be crossed over stones. In addition, here and there locking bars are set up.
