This history trail begins with the building that was primarily responsible for the industrialization in Hof: the first train station. Because hard coal could be obtained cheaply by rail from the Zwickau district from 1851, the companies were able to operate steam engines - industrialization began. The remaining parts of the entrance hall tell of a time when train stations were not yet temples of consumption, but were cathedrals of progress. Four entrances to the hall meant a maximum of two trains, because each locomotive had to be shunted in the hall of the dead end from the Zugspitze to the end of the train.
